5 WAYS TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR ONLINE SE SESSIONS

Having/doing Somatic Experiencing therapy sessions online needn't be so different from in-person sessions. In fact, some of the most powerful sessions I've experienced have happened over the internet. Here are simple ways you can prepare for yours.

1. LOCATION

Ideally, sit in a favourite comfortable and quiet spot facing a favourite view, such as a window, plant or a work of art.

2. POSITION

Have VSee or doxy.me open on your computer, ideally (vs. your phone), and away from your body, so that your legs and hands are free to move. Have your feet on the ground. It's calming.

3. RESOURCES

Have key resources ready and within easy reach e.g. blanket, cushion, water.

4. PRIVACY

If you're concerned you may be overheard, have ear plugs in ready.

5. PRACTICALITY

Have your phone and nearby charged in case we need to use it e.g. the internet fails.
We’ll take care of anything else during your session.
